Laptop Saga

So, here's what happened: I had a Dell XPS M1710 laptop. Very nice. The only issue is, the power receptacle in the back was loose, so the power cable would simply slip out while I was working. This wasn't a big deal, but I had a warranty, so I contacted Dell to have it fixed. They sent a technician to replace the motherboard. The idiot tech replaced the motherboard, but didn't put the processor in right, so it wouldn't boot up. Then, he stripped two screws in the casing to make it impossible to properly take it apart again to return the old motherboard or even correct the problem. Before the tech arrived, I had a working laptop with a loose power receptacle. Afterwards, I had no laptop! So, Dell replaced it. With a brand-new XPS M1730!! This laptop is a beast. It's got a 2.5Ghz Core2Duo, nVidia 8700M GT video card, 4gb memory, a 320gb 7200rpm hard drive, built-in LCD panel in the keyboard, a number pad (on a laptop!) and a kick-ass 1920x1200 LCD screen. On top of that, it came with two batteries, a remote control, a leather CD case, top-of-the-line Creative head phones, top-of-the-line Bose computer speakers and subwoofer, XPS backpack... Unbelievable! The only downside is my previous beast of a laptop weighed about 10 lbs. with a 2 lb. power supply (130w). This one weighs about 12 lbs. with a gigantic 3-4 lb. power brick (230w!). Still, it's worth it. This thing is awesome.
Anyway, the moral of the story is, Dell tech support may suck, but sometimes that creates a payoff! I guess that's the moral. Who knows?
